Dave Jake Schwartz is a 1988 cum laude honors and law review graduate of UC Hastings Law School, with dean's list honors and undergraduate prelaw degrees from UC Davis in political science and English. Jake is a former federal district court judicial clerk to the honorable Alan C. Kay, and a nationally qualified field sobriety tests practitioner (the same as police).
Jake was raised in Stanford and has lived in the Bay Area for 50 years, and in Sonoma County for over 20. After law school, Jake practiced at the San Francisco and New York offices of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, before moving to more scenic Sonoma County, where he bought a local tavern in Guerneville, became a director of the Russian River Chamber of Commerce, and then ten years ago he founded and wrote his massive local DUI website, SonomaCountyDUILawyer.com.
Jake is a member of the California DUI Lawyers Association and the Sonoma County Bar Association. He has proudly volunteered with the following organizations: Legal Aid, Legal Services Foundation, Active 20-30 Club, Women's Recovery Athena House, Empire Law School Mock Court, Community Development Commission River Task Group on Homelessness, Police Accountability Clinic and Helpline, Copwatch, Santa Rosa High School, Juvenile Hall, O/22 Rally Against Police Brutality, Windsor Community School, Northern California Cannabis Harvest Festival, Guerneville Homeless Count.
