Following most second DUI convictions in a ten-year period, if the separate DMV administrative suspension is not avoided by hiring a local Mendocino County DUI lawyer and then winning that separate, parallel DMV case, then the one-year suspension resulting from the DMV case, and the two-year suspension from a second DUI conviction in court, typically can be converted into a restricted Class C (noncommercial) "work" license following one year. CVC 13352.5

Knowledgeable and experienced Mendocino DUI attorneys will explain that if new 2010 laws are applicable to certain second and third DUI convictions, an ignition interlock (IID) breathalyzer restricted license (not a work restriction) may be possible earlier, after a 90-day or six-month suspension, respectively, if certain tasks are accomplished, such as installation of the IID, enrollment in an 18-month DUI program of classes, filing an SR-22 insurance form with DMV and paying a reissue fee. CVC 13352, 13353.3. This is not a "work" license because you can drive anywhere; this is a restricted license where the restriction to driving is that the driver must have the IID breathalyzer installed, but there is no restriction on the reason for driving.
